Bowling Along 2008

 Cricket stroke Old bike

Rob & Steve are going to stay with some friends in North Yorkshire and watch the Test Match at Headingley in July .... so the plan is to make it a mini Boys' Outing of 3 days and about 210 miles.

The route is yet to be confirmed but will start, provisionally, at Balsall Common (Nr Coventry) and go via Loughborough, Southwell and through Lincolnshire to cross the Humber Bridge before skirting York and finishing about 10 miles N of Harrogate.

If all goes to plan the ladies will arrive by car and take the chaps and the bikes home.

20 July 2008 : UPDATE

It all went pretty much to plan - left Balsall Common, near Coventry on Tuesday morning, overnights at Southwell, Notts (72 miles) and Hessle, Humber Bridge (67 miles) and finished at Burton Leonard, N Yorks (62 miles) - total 201 miles.  Good weather and a following wind for the first two days, rain and a headwind on the third day.

A good day of cricket against South Africa on the Friday, a turgid day on the Saturday.

A slightly more detailed Boys' Outing report may follow in due course with nature notes that involve llamas, a hare, a fox and some guinea fowl . . .
